Council
Information
Knights
of Columbus Council 766 have a regular program of activities that will
interest most Catholic men. Your participation as a Knight in these activities
will benefit you and strengthen your Church, the Community, and Council
766. As Knights, our goal is to emphasize the principals of the Order,
Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. We invite you to help in accomplishing
these goals. Some of the activities of the local Knights are listed below.
Council
Meeting
Business meetings are held once a month, the 1st Thursday, at 7:00 p.m.,
in the Hall located at 124 South 7th Avenue in Walla Walla. Dinner
and social time starts at 6:00 p.m.
Council Meetings
are held once a month on the first Thursday of each month, also at the
Hall. The council meeting is the regular business meeting of the Council
with reports of activities, prayer, refreshments and fellowship with Brother
Knights following the meeting. A color TV and a comfortable lounge are
available for your enjoyment.

ACTIVITIES
Social activities are held during the year for member and family enjoyment.
The activities include the following:

PARISH ACTIVITIES
Knights are active in parish activities. Members of this Council
participate in the following Community Activities:

NEWSLETTER
Each month the council puts out a newsletter for its members. Click on

BASKETBALL FREE
THROW PROGRAM
Council 766 has participated in the Basketball Hoop Shoot Competition
by sponsoring a local hoop shoot open to the children of the Knights and
the Parish. Winners of this competition go on to compete at the District
and state levels.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES
The local Council participates, with the other Councils in the State,
in the Annual Catholic Charities Raffle Ticket Sale. Proceeds from this
sale are used at the State level for various charities. A portion of the
proceeds is returned to the local Council for distribution to Local Charitable
Organizations.
PENNIES FOR HEAVEN
Knights throughout the State regularly donate pocket change to a "Pennies
for Heaven" fund. In addition, special activities generate additional
funds for the program. The money from this fund is given to the education
of new Priests.
KNIGHT OF THE
MONTH
Each month an award is made to a Knight for outstanding service to
the Council and the Community.
FAMILY OF THE
MONTH
Each month an award is made to a Family for outstanding services
to the Council and Community.
RIGHT TO LIFE
COMMITTEE
The council is dedicated to the premise of the sanctity and right to life
of all mankind from conception to natural death. Members participate in
this cause!
SICKNESS AND DEATH
Members of this Council who are in the hospital or seriously ill are sent
"get well" cards. A visitation is usually made to Brother Knights who
are in local hospitals. Knight's families are sent "Sympathy" and Mass
cards in the event of a death in the family.
MEMORIAL FOR DEPARTED
KNIGHTS
An annual memorial Mass is offered for the repose of the souls of
our departed Brother Knights. Attendance of our Brother Knights and families
is encouraged.
